Professional Training   We receive professional training through an organization called Drieaz. The restorative drying process is taught in the classroom which is accompanied by live simulations. The drying process is to be conducted within the guidelines developed by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification entitled the IICRC S500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration. The goal of the process is to return a flooded and potentially damaged home or building to their pre-loss moisture conditions, and the structure actually be in equal or even better appearance and cleanliness when the job is complete. Classroom lectures cover safety, damage assessment, initial consultation and documentation, water extraction, antimicrobials and biocides, increasing evaporation rate, drying materials, equipment, and daily progress reports. Various pieces of drying and testing equipment are demonstrated in live simulations for a more hands on approach. Technicians have to pass a written exam to receive certification.
